Beirutkon
Souvenirs from Beirut
Paper, cardboard & fabric
2011

Beirutkon translates to ‘your Beirut’ in Arabic. This project was developed alongside two colleagues as a response to the lack of local modern souvenirs. The five products developed all have room for personalization.

Map it: A blank map of Beirut to fill in as you go

Wear it: A long long-sleeve T-shirt with printed cutting lines that allows you to design it your own way.

Build it: 5 storyboards depicting different situations of the streets of Beirut that you can assemble to create your own absurd story.

Light it: The skyline of Beirut on flat sheets of translucent paper that you color-in, roll, click and light a candle inside.

Tile it: A puzzle of traditional Lebanese tiles.
